Hub Servants
The servants provide additional layers of background flavor and fiction (for the player that wants it) and they also serve as elegant signposts, relaying such information as where the major conspirators are at a given moment. They also provide hooks for playstyle feedback and side tasks.
Wallace
Wallace is actually a favored and trusted Pendleton servant. He is a talented cook and now provides meals for the Conspirators. Wallace is strictly loyal to Pendleton and believes that his master will elevate the family during this time of upheaval. He believes himself far more cultured than the other servants, who he considers menials. While at the Hound Pits, he has been ordered to obey all the Conspirators, but he always gives his own master preference.
Lydia
Lydia has some charm and allure, and once served as the popular hostess of the Hound Pits when it was thriving. She now floats along, doing some work in the pub but mainly looking busy when she needs to. She realizes that the men enjoy her subtle flirting and will keep her around to brighten their days.
Cecelia
Disheveled and defeated, Cecelia has never enjoyed good prospects, and now clings to her menial post in this closed pub. It is a bed safe from the rats, and her ambitions ask for no more than that. She performs the most mundane and menial work required, and scurries to stay out of sight of the masters of the house.
Magnus
This is not a reoccurring servant, he is only present at the outset but contracts the plague just prior to Corvo’s arrival. In his time he was the carpenter charged with maintaining and improving the grounds.
Norman
When the pub was open for business, Norman ran the servants and workers with clockwork efficiency. Now most of the staff has been dismissed and Norman must do most things himself. His primary concern is his master, Jonathan Russel. In addition to such favored tasks as laying out his master’s clothes, handling his correspondence, planning his meals and tending to his wants, Norman must also sweep the grounds, scrub floors, de-louse bedding and other work beneath his station. Often he coerces Cecelia into the worst of the work. Emptying chamber pots and the like.
Luther
Former hound keeper. Now that the pub is closed all but one of the fighting hounds were sold off or put down. He tends to the remaining hound and is also tasked with keeping security tight in the closed pub. Luther was once a member of Slackjaw’s gang, but found a calling in the breeding, training and fighting of the vicious hounds. In the days when the pub was thriving, Jonathan Russel could count on Luther when an unruly customer needed a beating, or cutting up a gambler that welched on a bet. Now that the organized hound fights are suspended, Luther misses the violent clashes and savagery. He may be on the verge of returning to the streets to run with his old mates but waits to see where this conspiracy is headed.
