ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a small, blue collar town on the Gulf Coast of Texas, heavily immersed in comics, science fiction, fantasy, video games and table top RPGs. These interests fueled my drive to create art, and being an illustrator was a large part of my personal identity. I would work tirelessly to create virtual RPG worlds for my D&D group. As soon s I was able, I moved to Houston to get a degree in art, then on to Austin where I was fortunate enough to land a job crafting video games at Origin Systems. In the years since, I have been playing D&D pretty much the entire time, and one of my friends from that original game is still at the table with me!
While in Austin I married the love of my life, learned that I'm a cat person, and have been lucky enough to merge my personal interests and career into one entity. Storytelling in games was augmented when I fell into the Austin film community, where I've worked on both sides of the camera in films large and small.
A Lifelong Obsession with D&D
Our group rented a real-life castle for a weekend D&D getaway!
Playing D&D with my game development friends has been a blessing.
Mega Dungeon I created for my group to explore when I was 13 years old.
Drawing and Painting
I love drawing and illustration, and sometimes regret that I haven't diligently practiced since I started in childhood. I'm constantly amazed by the talent and vision of the artists I work with every day, so it feels vulnerable to share my own works. Resisting the urge to use Midjourney for my D&D character illustrations. I'd like to draw my own.
Love/Hate Relationship with Running
So many long hours at a desk began to take their toll, and for some reason I took up running as a way to get exercise. Couch to 5K was a godsend for getting started. I went from barely jogging for 300 yards to completing the Austin Marathon after almost two years of training. I don't do marathons anymore, but being able to complete it has fundamentally changed me for the better, realizing that I'm capable of things I never really though possible before.
Juno
Juno joined us at the very start of the pandemic, and buoyed us through some very challenging years. She's demanding, affectionate, mercurial and demure. All at the same time.
